Expert, Experienced, and Trusted Physician

Hello, I am Assoc. Prof. Engin Çelik, MD.

I have been practicing in the fields of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology Surgery for many years. My core treatment philosophy is guided by the latest international protocols, aiming to achieve maximal oncological safety while preserving patients' quality of life and comfort through minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) surgical approaches.

Surgeries and Treatments

Gynecologic Oncology (Cancer Surgery)

Early diagnosis, comprehensive surgical staging, and advanced tumor resections for female reproductive cancers:

Endometrial (Uterine) Cancer:

Laparoscopic surgery and Sentinel Lymph Node (SLN) mapping

Ovarian Cancer:

Advanced cytoreductive (debulking) surgery and fertility-sparing approaches for young patients

Cervical Cancer:

Radical surgery, nerve-sparing hysterectomy, and fertility-preserving trachelectomy

Vulvar and Vaginal Cancers:

Radical resections and reconstructive surgical procedures.

Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery

  • Laparoscopic Surgery:

  • Minimally invasive procedures for the uterus, ovarian cysts, and uterine fibroids, ensuring minimal postoperative pain and faster recovery.

  • Robotic Surgery:

  • High-precision surgery for complex pelvic conditions and oncological cases.

  • Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis (Endometrioma):

  • Laparoscopic excision of advanced endometriotic lesions involving the bowel and bladder.

  • Hysteroscopic Surgery:

  • Incision-free treatment of endometrial polyps, submucosal fibroids, uterine septa, and intrauterine adhesions.

    Cervical Health, HPV & Colposcopy

  • Evaluation of abnormal Pap smear findings (ASCUS, LSIL, HSIL) and high-risk HPV genotypes

  • Colposcopy-guided targeted cervical biopsy

  • LEEP and Cold Knife Conization (management and excision of precancerous cervical lesions)

  • General Gynecology & Women's Health Care

Preventive health management, early screening, and modern medical/surgical treatment of benign gynecological conditions:

    • Contraception & Family Planning: Personalized contraceptive counseling, including insertion and management of hormonal and copper intrauterine devices (IUDs).

    • Menopause & Perimenopause Care: Support for hot flashes, sleep disturbances, osteoporosis screening, and clinical assessment of postmenopausal spotting.

    • Recurrent Vaginal Infections & Discharge: Targeted treatment for chronic vaginitis, yeast infections, and pelvic inflammatory diseases.

    • Chronic Pelvic & Lower Abdominal Pain: Accurate diagnosis and targeted management of persistent pelvic pain impacting daily activities.

    • Management of Uterine Fibroids & Ovarian Cysts: Non-surgical follow-up of benign cysts/myomas or organ-preserving minimally invasive (laparoscopic/hysteroscopic) removal.

    • Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: Systematic evaluation and management of heavy, prolonged, or intermenstrual bleeding caused by polyps, fibroids, or endocrine dysfunction.

    • Menstrual Irregularities & Hormonal Disorders: Diagnosis and therapy for delayed or frequent periods, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and hormonal imbalances.

    • Routine Annual Gynecological Exam & Check-Up: Comprehensive pelvic examination, transvaginal/pelvic ultrasound, Pap smear, and preventive wellness screenings.

Symptoms and Diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer

    Conditions

    Ovarian Cancer

Raising awareness about ovarian cancer—one of the most critical gynecological malignancies—is vital. Ovarian cancer is often termed an insidious or "silent" disease because characteristic symptoms typically develop in later stages, once the condition has progressed within the abdomen. Early signs can often be subtle and mistaken for everyday digestive issues.

What symptoms require attention? Persistent abdominal bloating, unexplained pelvic or abdominal pain, feeling full quickly (early satiety), reduced appetite, urinary urgency or frequency, and changes in bowel habits (such as constipation or diarrhea) may indicate underlying ovarian pathology.

If you have been experiencing these symptoms continuously for several weeks without relief, it is essential to be evaluated by a specialist. Women with a family history of ovarian, breast, or colorectal cancer carry an elevated risk and may benefit from genetic counseling. While there is no single routine screening tool for ovarian cancer, a thorough symptom review, comprehensive pelvic exam, and high-resolution ultrasound are key to early diagnosis. Always listen to your body and prioritize your health.
